Two arrested on drug offenses at Pulaski-Carroll football game

Two men were arrested Oct. 23 at the Pulaski County-Carroll County football game in Hillsville for public intoxication and various drug charges.

According to Carroll County Sheriff J. B. Gardner, two men were arrested at the Pulaski-Carroll football game for being intoxicated in public. After their arrest, deputies discovered both men were in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Gardner said further investigation revealed Brandon Tyler Whitaker, 22, of Dublin, also possessed syringes, illegal partial tablets of an unidentified prescription drug, and a spoon with drug residue.

The Carroll Sheriff added that Garrison Michael Thomas, 21, of Pulaski, was found to be in illegal possession of more than 50 tablets of varying Schedule II and Schedule IV prescription drugs, as well a syringe and a spoon with drug residue. Thomas also had marijuana and paraphernalia in his possession.

“Both men were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication,” Gardner stated. “Further charges are pending upon state drug analysis of the prescription pills. Both men were brought before the magistrate and were being held in the regional jail until sober.”
