Twin County Regional Healthcare (TCRH) will host a Women’s Health Expo on Tuesday, October 2, floating from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Creek Bottom Restaurant located at 103 County Club Lane in Galax.
This free event will include health and wellness booths; beauty, shopping, art and more as well as door prizes, give aways and refreshments. Guest speakers will begin at 6 p.m. including Dr. Angelica Perry of Twin County Family Care Center in Hillsville; Liz Jones, FNP-BC of Twin County Cardiology; Sam Bartlett, Motivational Speaker and Executive Director of Police Fitness as well as Chris Pollins and Dr. Robert Lazo of Chestnut Creek School of the Arts.
Free screenings will be offered to the community including: blood pressure, BMI (body mass index) and pulse oximetry. Other services provided by the Virginia Department of Health include: bone density, HgA1c and flu vaccines. Free health education will be available including, but not limited to, early heart attack care, stroke awareness, nutrition and diabetes information along with community resources including: Every Woman’s Life and Road to Recovery programs.
