Twin County Home Health & Twin County Hospice have moved to a more central, more visible location.
On September 5, the two local businesses celebrated the move to 963 East Stuart Drive in Galax (in the former Virginia Employment Commission building) with an Open House/Ribbon Cutting. Previously, the businesses were located in the Vaughan Office Suites at 818 Glendale Road in Galax.
Twin County Home Health has been serving the community for 33 years and Twin County Hospice has been in operation for 23 years. Twin County Home Health offers skilled nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and medical social worker care.
“We go into the homes when we receive a referral and we go in after an exacerbation from a disease or surgery and it is more short-term than what hospice is,” said Jennifer Holder, Executive Director of Twin County Home Health. “We are preparing them to be independent and educating them with their diagnosis. They have to be homebound in order to receive home health services. Once they reach their goal, then we prepare them for discharge.”
Twin County Hospice offers skilled nursing, medical social worker, chaplain, aide, volunteer services, grieve support and community bereavement. “Hospice care is about helping those at end of life, and helping families with grieving for 13 months after their loved one passes.” said Sara Hart, Executive Director of Twin County Hospice.
