School District honors employees with service awards

Patricia A. Hawks was honored for her 45-years of service to the Carroll County Public Schools at the System-wide Opening on August 2. Hawks is an elementary teacher at Gladeville Elementary. Frances D. Irvin was honored for 35-years of service at the Carroll County School Division-wide Opening on August 2 at CCHS. Irvin began her employment as a bus driver in the Fall of 1983 and plans on retiring in September of this year. - - David Broyles | The Carroll News

Carroll County Public School District staff and educators were presented service awards during the August 2 System-wide Opening and Professional Development Day at Carroll County High School. The theme of this year’s event was “Do You Have What It Takes?”

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Beverly Adams-Parker told participants “It is the power of one” and that the event was an important chance to celebrate the dedication and community service of employees.

“It is important to know we can make a difference,” Adams-Parker told the crowd assembled in the CCHS Auditorium. “You make a difference each and every day in the life of a child.”

More than a dozen employees received special service awards. Twenty-Five year recipients honored included Julia H. Combs, Mark Harmon, Joseph L. Newman, Kimberly B. Robinson, Lori J. Robinson, Susan P. Rose and Tara W. Sheffey. Thirty-year award recipients included Teri D. Bond, Anthony J. Crotts, Sedonia J. Edwards, Naomi M. Orr, Wanda P. Parnell and Jude F. Raffeinner.

Frances D. Irvin and Robert A. Frazier were honored for 35-years of service, Katherine E. Price was honored for 40-years and Patricia A. Hawks was honored for 45 years of service.

Those honored for 20 years of service included: Rita D. Akers,Teresa A. Alexander, karen S. Bobbitt,Betty J. Bowman, Charlotte A. Deskins, Israel J. Easter, Laura C. Goad, Stacy L. Grimes, Amy S. Hash, Sharon P. Hayden, D. Wade Leonard, Kenneth W. Linkous, Jr., Lois A. Linkous, Christi H. Martin, Pamela D. Martin, Julie K Mullins, Karen S. Rippey, Mollissa R. Semones, Christy C. Shupe, Michelle D. Stockner, Tammera H. Tobler, Mary S. Ward, Stacy R. Whitaker and Jesse D.A. (Shane) Woods.

Personnel honored for 15 years of service included:Angela M. Beamer, Jacob E. Beamer, Lisa D. Branscome, Pamela D. Carter, Melissa L. Chappel, Amanda D. Dalton, Jennifer D. Dalton, Gloria J. Dooley, susan M. Early, Lisa C. Hurst, Diana L. Johnson, Ryann A. Newberry, Donna L. Ogle, Joi D. Ogle, Vicky L. Payne, Jennifer C. Ross, Brenda S. Sawyers, Liza B. Sutherland, F. Renee Thomas, Amy J. Ward, Rebecca J. Widener, Stephanie J. Wright, Shannon L. Young and Misty C. Zyvoloski.

Ten-year Service Award recipients included: Melissa N. Bold, Jessica A. Chochran, Amber F. Combs, Jason D. Easter, Debra J. edwards, Angela S. Goad, Linda L. Hannigan, Donna J. Hiatt, Sheila L. sousa Lintecum, Jessica L. Marshall, J. Kathryn McDaniels, Martin W. McKenzie, Denice M. Olinger, Priscilla J. Otey, David W. Quesenberry, Brittany L. Scott, Janet B. Smith, ronald B. Snow, Nicole L. Stewart-Llamas, Lynette M. Thomas, Terry W. Vaughan and Alison C. Watson.

The five-year service award recipients were Bradlee J. Bowman, Jennifer D. Harmon, Michael S. Hobbs, Walter Scott John, Diana M. Knowles, Devanie J. Mullins, Burton H. Painter and Jennifer B. Reece.
