One Woodlawn and two Galax residents are behind bars on arson charges related to the April 2018 fire at the former outlet mall in Wythe County.

According to the Virginia State Police, its Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Wytheville Field Office this week arrested Breanna F. Hodge, 18, of Galax; Anthony J. Sawyers, 26, of Woodlawn; and Logan S. Parks, 18, of Galax. Each of the three has been charged with one felony count of arson of a public building and all three are being held at the New River Regional Jail in Dublin.

The charges resulted from the state police investigation into the origin and cause of the April 6, 2018 fire at the former outlet mall. The mall was abandoned at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries associated with the arson.

The ATF assisted state police with the investigation.
