An investigation is underway to determine the cause of an accident Sunday involving a Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department truck.
Carroll County released a press release about the accident Monday afternoon. According to the release, a vehicle accident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department involving one of the department’s fire apparatus.
“The truck was leaving the building when it struck a small wooden structure. Moderate damage resulted to the front of the truck,” the county press release stated. “The accident resulted in no injuries. The cause of the accident is undetermined at this time.”
Carroll County Administrator Steve Truitt was out of town on business Monday, but said an investigation is underway to determine if the accident was caused by a mechanical issue or driver error. No other details were available at press time.
