Girl Scout Troop #1077 recently visited New York City, N.Y.
The troop consists of six Caddettes who are rising ninth-graders and three Juniors who are rising sixth-graders, most of whom have been members of the troop since Kindergarten. The girls and their mothers took a bus through the night to New York City, and jam-packed their day with visits to the Hershey Store, M&M Store, Disney Store, and LEGO Store, ate lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, saw Lion King on Broadway, took the subway and a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, ate New York pizza and cheesecake for supper, and did a bit of souvenir shopping. The girls had raised funds for several years for this trip, which marks the end of several of the girls’ Girl Scout careers. Troop leaders Marsha Lawson and Christa Vaughn couldn’t be prouder of all the girls have accomplished during their time as Girl Scouts, and of the fantastic young ladies they have become.
