Lillie Kimble struck out 14 in a three-hit shutout March 30 as Carroll County hammered visiting Graham 23-0 in a five-inning Southwest District contest. Of the 15 outs Kimble recorded, 14 came via strikeouts. She didnt issue any walks and gave up just three hits, all singles. Ten different Cavaliers had at least one hit in the victory. Carroll (2-3, 1-1 SWD) did most of its damage in the fourth innning, scoring 14 runs to increase a commanding 9-0 lead to 23-0. Autumn Fink led the Cavaliers with three hits and three runs, while Danielle Spence, Jordan Nunn and Amber Cannaday each belted two base hits. Cannaday scored four runs, while Nunn crossed the plate three times. Autumn Hill spanked a two-run double in the first and later scored to help Carroll take a 4-0 lead. Cannaday singled and scored in the second as the Cavs increased the lead to 7-0. Ragan Halsey, Hill and Ashley Willard all doubled.

Tazewell 10, Carroll Co. 1 Tazewell scored in every inning but the third Thursday to cruise to an 10-1 Southwest District victory over visiting Carroll County. Keisha Barton pitched three scoreless innings for Tazewell (2-0, 2-0 SWD) to pick up the win, and she scored the Bulldogs first run in the opening inning for a quick 1-0 lead. Barton also added a three-run, bases-clearing single in the second to push Tazewells advantage to 4-0. Tazewell added another run in the fourth as Katelyn Mitchell walked and scored. Carroll got on the board in the top of the fifth as Jordan Nunn doubled to center, took third on a wild pitch and later scored on an error. The Cavaliers stranded seven base runners in the loss. Tazewell got the run back in the bottom half of the inning and ended the game in the sixth with four runs. Amber Cannaday went 2-for-3 to lead Carroll at the plate. Nunn, Lillie Kimble, Ragan Halsey and Lindsey Davidson also had one hit each for the Cavs.
