Mary Elizabeth Burnett Marshall, 88, of Dugspur, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at Golden Living Center. She was born April 22, 1921 in Carroll County to the late Irvin Austin Burnett, Sr. and Susannah Dickerson Burnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lansing Marshall; brothers, William Garrett Burnett, Charles Rush Burnett, Edward Davis Burnett, Clayton Burnett, and Irvin Austin Burnett, Jr.; and sisters, Iva Mae Burnett, Lorraine B. Martin, and Viola B. Cummins. Surviving are a brother, Walter Burnett of Dugspur; sister, Martha B. West of Collinsville; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dugspur Rescue Squad. Inurnment will be in the Cox Cemetery.
