Ava Ruth Bowman of Laurel Fork

Ava Ruth Bowman, 80, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Skyline Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Bowman was born in Floyd County to the late Ken and Gracie Cox Hendrick. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Hendrick. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Collin Brockway Bowman of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Larry Hill of Fancy Gap, and Cheryl and Daniel Cronk of Floyd; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kristy Bowman of Floyd; four grandsons, Benjamin Cronk, Nathan Cronk, Trent Hill, and Justin Hill and wife Crystal; two granddaughters, Marissa Bowman Puckett and husband Patrick and Kaylen Bowman; and two great-grandchildren, Sadie Jarrells and John Gates. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Rome Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Rome Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A guestbook is available online by visiting www.vaughanguynnandmcgrady.com.
