Name: Aniello Palumbo

Family Members: wife, Linda Palumbo; daughter, Maryanna Palumbo

Occupation and why you selected it: Chef and restaurant owner. It is my legacy. A family business that became a passion.

How did you learn to cook? I began working in my father’s restaurant when I was 8 years old. I would ride my bike to work every day after school and on weekends. My friends were all busy with sports and school work, all I wanted to do was be in the restaurant.

Education: Martinsville High School

What is something most people don’t know about you: My first name, and my passion for good food

Favorite food: Broccoli rapini

Favorite music and group/performer: Southern rock, Def Leppard

If you weren’t in the restaurant business, what do you think you would be doing? Construction. I love creating and fixing things. I just love working with my hands.

How many times a day are you called Tony? At least 25 times a day

What is your favorite thing about Italy? Besides being home, I love the lifestyle of Italians. It is more family oriented, and food and drink are the center of the culture.

Share your most favorite memory in your life to date: My daughter being born, of course. And also I got to celebrate my 25th birthday in Boston at the famous bar Cheers.

Name something you find very irritating and why: People who don’t appreciate good food. Food is my passion in life. That is how I was raised.

What is the best advice you were ever given and who gave it: Take care of your family first. My mother.

What else would you like the people of Carroll County to know about you? Food and drink is a way of life for me. I love that I can share my passion for cooking good food with everyone in this area. We really appreciate our guests that have been dining with us for years, and we feel like they are part of our family.
