An 18-year old Woodlawn man was airlifted following a motorcycle accident on Friday afternoon.
Cory Brandon Sheets, wrecked on a 2002 Honda at around 3:20 on Friday on Oak Grove Road, about 1.3 miles away from Route 620.
According to the report compiled by Virginia State Trooper S.O. Rector, the motorcycle overturned, ejecting Sheets. He was taken by Carroll County EMS to Twin County Airport, where he was airlifted to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Sheets was discharged from Baptist the next day.
Rector said alcohol was a factor in the accident and charged Sheets with DUI under 21. The investigation is still ongoing.
