Ray H. Sumner, 66, of Cleveland, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Sumner was born in Carroll County to the late Lemuel and Amanda Wilson Sumner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Sumner. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rayburn and Gina Sumner of Winder, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Greg Stone of Austinville; siblings and their spouses, Russell and Judy Sumner of Winston Salem, NC, Mildred and Carroll Martin of King, NC, Marshall and Linda Sumner of Galax, Shirley Nester of Tennessee, and Sylvia S. Phillips of Mississippi; sister-in-law, Juanita Sumner of Mt. Airy, NC; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Akers and Rev. Robert Akers officiating. Burial followed in the Wilson Cemetery.
