Ruby J. Edwards, 72, of Galax, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 in the Golding Living Blue Ridge Nursing and Rehab. Center, Galax. Mrs. Edwards was born in Mercer County, WV to John William and Emily Jane Robinette Monk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Edwards and is survived by sisters, Bonita Burnette of Galax, Juanita Delp of Elk Creek; brothers, Clifford H. Monk of Princeton, WV, Theo Monk of Princeton, WV,. Hobert D. Monk of FL, Teddy Monk of Burlington, NC and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and burial was held Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at the Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Elton Horton officiating.
