Kendra Durnil and Amie Delp both medaled for Carroll County on Thursday in the Randy Smith Cross Country Classic in Bristol, Va.
Durnil placed 15th out of 109 runners in the varsity girls’ race and Delp turned in the fourth-best time among 83 runners in the middle school girls’ race at Sugar Hollow Park. Durnil’s three-mile time of 22:11 came in the 3-mile varsity girls’ event. Delp’s fourth-place time of 12:31 came in the 3,000-meter middle school race.
Carroll County’s Justin Leagan was the top Cavalier in the varsity boys’ run. The Carroll junior finished 43rd out of 136 runners with a time of 18:25. Cavalier teammate Carson Piatt placed 82nd with a run of 19:30. Other Carroll runners in the varsity boys’ race were Dakota Guynn (21:11), Trace Robinson (22:24), Keegan Mims (22:35) and Devan Templeton (23:23).
Carroll County’s Will Burnette earned the 19th spot out of 111 runners in the middle school boys’ race with a 3,000-meter time of 12:42.
