A vehicle that hydroplaned and left the scene is being blamed for a series of accidents early Friday morning on Interstate 77 in Carroll County that left traffic backed up for several miles.According to Virginia State Police 1st Sgt. Mike Musser, there were four separate incidents at about 5 a.m. Friday morning near mile marker 2.8 on I-77 Southbound. Musser said the first incident occurred when a tractor trailer flatbed loaded with large pieces of aluminum framing used to make solar panels came upon a car that was hydroplaning.“He jammed his brakes to avoid that, lost control, jackknifed, and spilled his load on the interstate,” Musser said. “The car that caused it kept going and left the scene.”
