Family members: Husband, Donald; daughter and husband, Tracy and Joe Haynes; grandchildren, Skyler and Jesse Haynes; mother, Virginia; brothers, Ronnie and David; and sister, Lois.
Where are you from originally? Big city of Laurel Fork, live in Carroll County all my life.
What clubs, groups and church do you belong? Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church
Education: Cosmetology at Carroll County High School, Carole Lyden course, and lots of other classes on hair.
What would you be doing if you weren’t doing what you do now and why? Mortician would be first on my list. I also think I would have enjoyed trying to be a yoga instructor, but I think I’m where God wants me to be.
What is the best part of your job? I love the people; they can make my day with just a word or a smile.
What is the least favorite part of your job? Good friends moving, leaving, dying. You miss them a lot.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I take care of the nursery at church, isn’t that scary?
Favorite food: Cheese, chocolate
Favorite writer and/or book: Love the Bible, like reading Janet Evanovich’s books for fun.
Favorite music and/or performer: I like Christmas songs and saxophone music.
Share your favorite memory: My marriage to Donald, the birth of my daughter, the birth of my two grandchildren and my mission trips to Thailand and Alaska.
Name something you find very irritating and why: People who can’t forgive and move on. They should try to be happy instead of miserable, and trying to make everyone else miserable. Happy can be contagious.
What is the best advice you were ever given and who gave it? My sister liked this song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” That’s good advice.
What else would you like the people of Carroll County to know about you? I lost my dear friend in July. Jan Hull was a very dear person and is greatly missed. We shared a lot of stories and laughs no one else would understand. Don’t forget to tell your friends how important they are to you, you won’t regret it, trust me. Love goes a long way. Have a blessed day.
