In honor of his first grandson, local man Jeff Goad cut his long, flowing hair June 19 and donated it to Locks of Love. Goad, pictured holding a pair of freshly-cut ponytails, donated the locks in honor of his grandson, Jacob Wyatt (featured in the portrait in Goad’s other hand).
“We lost him May 24 of last year,” Goad said. “His heart beat six times and he passed away. I just had to do something.”
Goad said he’s never had his hair as long as it was before the haircut. Although Goad said he’s often called “Possum,” the long hair drew several other names from folks.
“I got lots of comments about it,” he said. “People would call me General Custer, Buffalo Bill, and Wild Bill Hickok.”
