Joe Bill (J.B.) Marshall, 84 of Pulaski, passed away on February 25, 2013 in Lewis Gale Hospital - Pulaski. He was born on October 13, 1928 in Hillsville, VA. Preceding him in death were his father Vasco Elmond Marshall and mother Lucy Edna Guynn Marshall; sisters Ethelene Iroler and Roberta Miller; brothers Dewey Clyde Marshall, Gale Marshall, and Wayne Marshall. Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 61 years, Mary Alice Marshall of Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jackie Marshall of Richmond, KY; and granddaughters Alicia Mae Marshall of Lexington, KY and Anna Grace Marshall of Richmond, KY. Mr. Marshall is also survived by a sister Faye Mills of Fancy Gap. J.B. graduated from Hillsville High School and served in both the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. Mr. Marshall worked for the Hillsville Hosiery Mill and Sprague Electric in Hillsville, and he also worked as a manager for Guynn Furniture in Pulaski, and for 27 years he was a manufacturer’s representative for Bassett Furniture. The last 4 years of his career he served as a sales representative for Vaughn-Basset Furniture. Mr. Marshall was a member of the First Christian Church (DOC) Pulaski where he was a Deacon Emeritus. J. B. was also a 57 year Master Mason with membership at Hillsville Lodge #193, A.F.&A.M., and was a Shriner in the Kazim Temple. Also, in 1973, J. B. was president of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Christian Church, (DOC). The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time, at the church. Burial will be in Hillsville at the Worrell Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, where the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 will conduct Masonic graveside rites.
