Wanda Sumner, 81, Fries, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at her home in Fries. She was born May 14, 1927 to McKinley and Pearl Holbrook Lundy in Galax. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Sumner. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Blake and Cathy Sumner of Independence, Gary and Tracy Sumner of Fries; four grandchildren step-sons and step-daughter-in-law, Nick and Corey Jones, Jacob Jones.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Fries Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and Rev. John Williams officiating.
