Name: D. “Mac” McPeak Jr.

Family Members: Wife, Valerie

Occupation and why you selected it: Born into it.

Do you feel you’re preserving local history by continuing to operate The Diner? The Diner hasn’t changed much since 1946, so it’s kind of like it’s still in the 1950s and 60s.

What clubs, groups and church do you belong: None

Education: Carroll County High School

What would you be doing if you weren’t doing what you do now? I don’t know what I would be doing, but maybe teaching or coaching.

What is something most people don’t know about you? That I’m a junior, Cleve Dempsey McPeak Jr.

Favorite foods: Steaks, seafood and ribs.

Favorite music and/or performers: Oldie Goldies, rock and country.

Share your favorite memory in your life to date: I had two of the best parents ever, and Valerie is my Godsend.

What is the best advice you were ever given and who gave it? Working at The Diner since the 10th grade, advice has always been plentiful. My dad always said he would rather be 30 minutes early than five minutes late.
