The Golden Harvest Thrift Shop reopened with a fresh, organized look on Nov. 12 following seven days of renovations.

“I am so pleased with it. It looks really nice,” said Donna Hudson, the shop’s manager. “Before the renovation it was all cluttered, you couldn’t see what was in the store. Now, it’s organized.”

The shop, which is funded by the Carroll County Ministerial Association, sells serviceable clothing and household items that have been donated. Clothes are inspected to make sure they are clean and items, such as appliances, computers, etc., are checked to make sure they work before being put on sale at affordable prices.

Hudson said the shop was able to complete the renovation so quickly because of help from several sources.

“The kids from Carroll County High School came to paint, and volunteers and board members helped with the rest,” said Hudson.

The shop is open 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, shoppers receive a free item for each purchased item.
