A Cana man has been charged with DUI, two counts of hit and run and shoplifting after a three-vehicle accident Saturday in Cana.
According to Virginia State Police reports, the accident happened at approximately 6 p.m. on Flower Gap Road near the intersection of Paul’s Creek Road. Daniel Eric Brame, 34, of Cana, was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee on Flowers Gap Road when he crossed the centerline and sideswiped two vehicles, a 2006 Nissan operated by Marlie Samuel Jones of Cana and a 2010 Nissan operated by Nikki Cannoy of Lambsburg.
“After he struck those, the Brame vehicle continued on Flower Gap Road until it became disabled,” said Virginia State Police 1st Sgt. Mike Musser. “The Brame subject fled the scene on foot and he was later located at a residence about a mile-and-a-half away.”
Musser said Troopers Dean Horton and Cameron Keesling were involved in the investigation and location of Brame. Horton charged Brame with DUI, two counts of hit and run, and a count of shoplifting from the Family Dollar in Cana.
Musser said no injuries were reported as a result of the three-vehicle accident.
