A Hillsville man has been charged with the robbery of a grocery store in Henry County.
According to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Brennan Trevor Phillips, 20, of Deerfield Road in Hillsville, has been charged with one felony count of robbery. The robbery is alleged to have occurred Sunday, August 10 at 4:30 p.m. at Read’s Grocery in Spencer, Va. Phillips is currently being without bond in the Henry County Jail.
“A white male entered the store and demanded the clerk give him the money from the cash register. The suspect was armed with a can of pepper spray,” the press release stated. “After taking an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, the suspect exited the store and drove away in a vehicle that was described as a white, full-size Chevrolet truck.”
