Ron Martin, co-owner and CEO of Hometown Grocery, LLC, known locally as Grants Supermarket, has just announced plans to locate a new supermarket in the old Kroger building in Downtown Galax.
Grants has been a family-owned and operated business since its founding in 1949. In an age where all in one shopping centers market the convenience of one-stop shopping, Grants strives to maintain a personal, family-atmosphere with its customers.
“We choose to offer our customers the highest quality of foods and affordable prices, but we also want them to enjoy visiting our stores,” Martin said Thursday in a press release. “Our customers’ needs and personal satisfaction are our top priorities. It’s not big business – it’s a good business. We hope the folks in Galax will be as excited to hear we’re coming to town as we are to have the opportunity to do so.”
Grants Supermarkets currently operates 11 stores in southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia. Adding to its most recent purchase in Bland, the Galax supermarket will be number 13.
