A Dugspur man has been arrested and charged with larceny and drug offenses in connection with a stolen car in Patrick County.
According to Carroll County Sheriff J.B. Gardner, his department received a call on Dec. 23 at 2:11 p.m. from the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office to be on the lookout for a stolen green Ford thunderbird that had been taken from their county. Lt. Bobby Lyons, Sgt. David Walls and Cpl. Rocky Dalton responded to the Dugspur section of Carroll County to watch for the car.
“Lt. Lyons observed the vehicle on Dugspur Road near Hylton Road and attempted to stop the car. A short chase ensued before the driver decided to stop,” Gardner said in a press release. “Lt. Lyons arrested Israel David Branch, 39, of Buffalo Road, Dugspur, for grand larceny, reckless driving, driving after his license had been revoked, and possession of marijuana. Mr. Branch was brought before the magistrate and was held without bond in the New River Regional Jail.”
