Guests welcome at Virtual Costume Party

October 12, 2013

Ghastly ghouls, zombies and monsters of the Twin Counties unite - you all now have an equal chance to win up to $150 in The Carroll News’ Virtual Costume Party!

If you enjoy Halloween, dressing up, or both, then we’ve got just the contest for you. And if you’ve got a costume, flaunt it; if your children get all decked out, show them off; if your co-workers have fun with the season, promote them, with proper permission, of course, and if you want to see them win, start voting for them beginning Nov. 3.

It’s all possible now, with the Oct. 20 start of The Carroll News’ Virtual Costume Party, an online and print offering brought to readers and web browsers by the paper and its advertising supporters, title sponsor Jeff Johnson Chevrolet and Blue Ridge Pharmacy.

All you need to enter is a photo of you or your loved one dressed as a witch, princess, video game hero, three-headed monster or other Halloween favorite to enter our Virtual Costume Party. Over the next two weeks, contestants’ photos can be entered at in a number of different categories, including Funniest, Scariest, Cutest and Most Original.

Entering is quick and easy and there are great prizes just waiting to be won. Just visit our website, click on the Virtual Costume Party logo, follow the instructions and you’re ready to go.

Contest submissions will be accepted beginning the week of Oct. 20. Got Halloween costumes ready to go for this year? You’ve got time to get this year’s costumes entered. Do you have previous years’ Halloween photos that you love? Enter those, too. Voting will take place from Nov. 3-10. During that time, voters can cast one ballot per daily. That means you, your friends and family members have the ability to vote multiple times for your favorites during the contest period.

Winners in each category, as well as the grand prize winner, will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in The Carroll News. The entry with the most overall votes will win $150. One more winner will receive $50, which will go to the entry with the next highest total of votes.
