A Gladesboro man was seriously injured when the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Snake Creek Road and Westover Road on Jan.11. According to State Trooper Sgt. Mike Musser, Marty Dalton suffered “some pretty serious injuries, but they didn’t appear to be life threatening.”
Dalton, driving a 2000 Toyota Camry, was headed east toward Gladesboro on Snake Creek Road when a 2010 Ford Edge, driven by Tracy Carico of Galax, ran a stop sign on Westover Road, and slammed into the passenger side of Dalton’s car at approximately 2:54 p.m.
The Carroll County EMS and the Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident. Dalton, who was not wearing a seat belt, had to be extricated from his vehicle with powers cutters and the jaws of life.
Carico was charged with failure to yield the right of way by State Trooper J.D. Delp, who investigated the accident.
