Oakland Students Committed to Caring

Oakland Elementary school recently held its annual canned food drive for the Carroll County Food Bank. Oakland students collected nearly 2,500 food items during the drive. The event was coordinated by Americorps Tutors Sam

Crawford and Lisa Burcham. Mrs. Stuart’s 5th grade class and Mr. Goad’s 3rd class collected over 800 cans each and both earned a Wii party for their efforts. “This is far and away the largest contribution from Oakland” said
